BKA Basic Assessment

The BKA Basic Assessment is the basic beekeeping qualification of the British Beekeepers Association. It enables candidates to show they are a competent beekeeper with a basic understanding of good beekeeping husbandry, and it also provides the foundation to complete other practical beekeeping assessments.

On successful completion of the assessment, the candidate will receive an official BBKA certificate.

To be eligible to take the assessment, candidates must have been keeping their own bees for at least a year.

Preston & District Beekeepers run a short course to help members prepare and successfully complete the Basic Assessment.

It consists of 4 x taught sessions and 2 x practical sessions, followed by the Assessment.

Further details will be provided when dates for our 2023 course are  confirmed.
